We bring joy in Haiti
Hey everybody, Just wanted to create a short post regarding this simple but great idea from Henryka Manes and her organization EcoWorks International who traveled to Haiti after the earthquake with Natasha Tsakos and Lucky Bruno. This is it…….The 48 hrs film contest in Miami is over and we made it.
We went on Friday night to pick up the package with the information we needed to make our short film and we received:
Genre: Buddy film
Prop: A brush
Character: Doug Whyte
Line: “What do you mean”
The “Buddy film” genre was not our favorite pick and really gave us a hard time to find a good story.
We all gathered at Aaron’s house around 8:30PM and started shooting some ideas but nothing would come up. We couldn’t agree on any of the ideas we came up with. (Mainly Aaron’s idea…..he was the inspired one that night)
As the time was passing by we decided it was time to pick one of the stories Aaron had and at 2:30 AM we finally stuck with one idea and started writing the script.
It took us around 1 hour to write it and after that Aaron went to pick up the third camera and some lenses to film.
We were all happy to think we’d have some hours of sleep before we’d start shooting at 7AM but we didn’t like the idea and had to restart all over again.
With the time against us, we finally all agreed on one story and started shooting at 11:30 am Saturday.
We didn’t know if we’d have enough time to finish but with the 3 cameras we had the filming went pretty well.
We filmed with two Canon 7D and one 5D but for some reason we couldn’t get the 5D to work properly so we had to do it with the two 7D.
